Looking to give your kids a leg up when it comes to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)? Look no further! WLOS News 13 made a Road Trippin’ stop at Zaniac Asheville in Biltmore Park Town Square to talk with Co-Owner and Campus Director Lynne Porter! Tune in to watch STEM enrichment and fun in action, and find out a little more about what we do!
Zaniac’s courses teach 21st century skills and ignite a child’s imagination through Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) learning. Kids discover how much fun math and technology can be using our world class curriculum that is coordinated with what kids are learning in school. Game-Based Learning using Minecraft™ capitalizes on the love kids already have for the game to teach concepts ranging from biology to physics. We use modular LEGO® systems designed for education in our Robotics courses to bridge the gap between theory and practice in engineering. Our core offering is Zane Math, a uniquely compelling, effective, and measurable approach to get kids caught up or ahead in math. And that’s just the beginning.
Zaniac is different from any other STEM program because we have a proven curriculum for every course, small class sizes of five students per instructor, and an interactive parent portal where parents can track the progress of their children after every course. We feature peer-to- peer based instruction in a fun atmosphere. Many of our instructors are honors high school or college students, gifted in STEM subjects. During the school year, Zaniac After-School Programs meet for 90 minutes, once a week for six weeks. During summer and vacation breaks, Zaniac Camps meet for 3 hours, every day for five days (M–F).
